Refreshing Peach Lemonade

May 11, 2026 by Mila

The sun is shining, and the fragrant aroma of fresh peaches fills the air as I prepare a pitcher of Refreshing Peach Lemonade. This delightful beverage takes just under an hour to prepare, and it perfectly balances the sweetness of ripe peaches with the tanginess of freshly squeezed lemons. It’s a crowd-pleaser that leaves everyone feeling refreshed and craving more.

This recipe is ideal for summer gatherings, picnics, or simply enjoying a quiet afternoon in the garden. If you make a large batch, you can store it in the fridge for up to a week, making it a convenient option for unexpected guests.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Enjoy the vibrant flavor of fresh peaches blended into a creamy puree.
  • Experience the lively tartness of fresh lemon juice balancing the sweetness.
  • Create a refreshing drink that is customizable to suit your taste preferences.
  • Impress your friends with a homemade, colorful beverage perfect for any celebration.

What You’ll Need

Gather the following ingredients to create your delicious peach lemonade.

For the Peach Puree

  • 6-8 large peaches, ripe (about 3 pounds)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

For the Lemonade Base

  • 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 8-10 medium lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water

For Serving

  • 4-6 cups cold water (for dilution)
  • Fresh peach slices (for garnish)
  • Lemon wheels or wedges (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint sprigs (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes

Note: Use sparkling water for a fizzy version.

Substitutions & Swaps

  • Honey instead of granulated sugar
  • Agave nectar for a lower-glycemic option
  • Any citrus juice if lemons are unavailable
  • Frozen peaches when fresh ones are out of season

How to Make It

Follow these simple steps to create your Refreshing Peach Lemonade.

1. Prepare peaches & peach syrup

Wash, pit, and dice 6-8 ripe peaches. In a medium saucepan, combine diced peaches, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup water, and 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice. Simmer over medium-low heat for 10-15 minutes until peaches are very soft.

2. Make & cool peach puree

Remove from heat, mash peaches thoroughly, then strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl to extract the smooth peach puree. Discard solids. Allow the peach puree to cool completely to room temperature.

3. Prepare simple syrup

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 cup water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and cool completely.

4. Prepare lemonade base

Juice 8-10 medium lemons to yield about 1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice; strain to remove any seeds or pulp. In a large pitcher, combine the cooled simple syrup with the strained lemon juice. Stir well.

5. Assemble lemonade

Add the cooled peach puree to the lemonade base in the pitcher. Stir vigorously to combine. Begin by adding 4 cups of cold water, stir, and taste. Gradually add more cold water (up to 6 cups total) until your desired strength and sweetness are reached.

6. Chill & serve

Refrigerate the peach lemonade for at least 30 minutes to thoroughly chill. Serve over plenty of ice, garnished with fresh peach slices, lemon wheels, and mint sprigs. For a sparkling version, replace some or all of the dilution water with sparkling water or club soda.

How to Store It

Fridge: 5-7 days in an airtight container
Freezer: no, because of texture changes
Reheat: not applicable, serve cold

Tips for Best Results

  • Choose ripe peaches for maximum sweetness and flavor.
  • Adjust the sugar based on the sweetness of your peaches.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best taste and aroma.
  • Serve immediately after chilling for optimal refreshment.
